Bush tucker trials

Coincidentally aligned with “I’m a celebrity…”, this week the Scouts played bush tucker trials and blind football.

The main purpose of the evening though was to learn that everyday experiences are impacted by having senses removed: feeling food when sight is removed; tasting food with smell removed; playing football with sight & hearing impaired.

Most Scouts were incredibly brave and just plunged their hands into a box of unknown food (different boxes contained rice, rice krispies, jelly, peas & chickpeas, mozzarella, rice pudding, and – the most disliked – baked beans).

They also had to match 7 different flavours of chocolate, guess which ketchup was the spicy one to go with their chips, and of course taste dried buffalo worms, locusts, crickets and mealworms.
