RAF Odiham Visit

Yesterday, RAF Odiham kindly hosted another Scouting visit and this time it was the 6th Fleet Beavers who learnt about mapping, the phonetic alphabet, safety equipment, principles of flight, fire support and of course, the mighty Wokka.

We also invested “Fox”, our newest Beaver Leader in the back of a Chinook.

Four Chinooks undergoing maintenance
Learning about the phonetic alphabet
Learning about everyone and everything who work on the Station.
Exploring the safety equipment
Trying on the different helmets available to aircrew
Beavers examining the paper structure inside a Chinook’s rotor
Learning the principles of flight
So many facts, and so many questions!
Investiting “Fox” also known as Karl, our newest Beaver Leader.
Now that’s how you get their attention!

As well as being told how much the Chinook weighs and what it can carry, we were told about where it can land. Check this out…
